Mini volcano at Kids 1st Wynyard

This week our pre-schoolers at Kids 1st Wynyard have been pretending to be little scientists!

After our children expressed an interested in dinosaurs, we thought it would be fun for them to learn more about this time period.

Over the past few weeks the children have enjoyed learning all about different dinosaurs and the world they lived in.

Following on from their interest in dinosaurs, we decided to create a Jurassic themed tuff spot for the children to play with. We even added an erupting volcano for the children to experiment with!

We poured vinegar over baking powder and washable red paint, so the ingredients would react and cause an ‘explosion’ of foamy ‘lava’. The children were very excited to see the results of their experiment. They watched in awe as their Jurassic world came to life!

The children really enjoyed their mini science lesson and can’t wait for their next one. To watch their science experiment video please visit the nurseries Facebook page.
