Kids 1st to open eleventh nursery at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Gateshead

Kids 1st is delighted to announce that planning permission has been secured to build their eleventh nursery at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Gateshead.

The new nursery is planned to open in November 2015 and will have 108 places for children aged three months to five years and will have a number of places allocated to Gateshead NHS Trust staff.

Allison Winship, Head of Childcare at Kids 1st, said: “We are thrilled to be opening our second nursery in Gateshead. Kids 1st Low Fell has gone from strength to strength since we opened in 2012 and we have already had a lot of interest in the new nursery.

Kids 1st QE is particularly special to us as our first two nurseries were built on hospital sites over eleven years ago, so we have a lot of experience in working with staff to accommodate their childcare needs.”

Peter Harding Deputy Chief Executive at QE Gateshead, said: “We are delighted to be welcoming Kids 1st onto our site as they have an outstanding reputation for offering exceptional childcare services.  This new nursery will provide our staff with the opportunity to have their young ones in child care with the reassurance of knowing they are close by and we very much look forward to opening this new facility.

“Kids 1st has an excellent reputation for providing first class childcare and crucially they have vast experience of running successful hospital nurseries. The opportunity for our staff to use salary sacrifice also makes it exceptional value. I know that that this will be great news for our staff.”
