What did you want to be when you were younger?
When I was a little girl, I always wanted to be a teacher. I loved helping others develop their skills and gain the confidence to grow into a young adult.
What made you want to be a Nursery Nurse?
I was always around young children as I was growing up, I had younger brothers and cousins who I often looked after. I discovered I had a knack for entertaining and encouraging children to learn and develop, which lead me to seek work experience in the childcare sector. I really enjoyed my time there and decided to pursue childcare as a career.
What is a typical day like?
There is never a ‘typical day’ with children, each day is different! There is always a new, exciting adventure with the children I look after.
What’s the best thing about your job?
Watching the children grow and learn new skills is a huge bonus for. But the most important thing is seeing the smiles on their little faces!
What is your favourite children’s book?
The Pancake that ran away – My mum used to read this to me when I was little and it was always my favourite.
What is your favourite children’s film?
Matilda – I watched this so many times as a little girl!
What is your favourite animal and why?
A Tapir – because of their unique looks!
And finally, what is your top childcare tip?
Always put your child first.
